Obsessed by Mario
A couple of weeks ago, the private view of Mario Testino’s “Obsessed by you” exhibition at Phillips de Pury & Company’s London galleries gathered together some celebrities related to fashion such as Naomi Campbell, Tom Ford, Giles Deacon and Claudia Schiffer.
Hace cosa de un par de semanas, Mario Testino inauguró en una de las galerías londinenses de Phillips de Pury & Company, una pequeña muestra de su trabajo bajo el nombre “Obsessed by you”. Estuvo acompañado de amigos como Naomi Campbell, Tom Ford, Giles Deacon y Claudia Schiffer, entre otros.
As soon as I knew about this exhibition at the end of May I was dying to see it, since I’m as obsessed by him as he is by Kate Moss… Anyway, I finally went to see it yesterday. The Phillips de Pury & Company’s gallery located near Victoria Street shows (and sells) 32 carefully selected prints from MarioTestino’s body of work.
Desde que supe de esta exposición, allá por Mayo-Junio, que estaba deseando ir a verla, ya que yo tengo la misma “obsesión” por Mario Testino que él tiene por Kate Moss… Pues bien, finalmente ayer pasé por la galería cercana a Victoria Street. Allí se exhiben (y venden) estas 32 fotografías rigurosamente seleccionadas.
The images are a sample of his work in different fields such as fashion advertising, covers of publications like Vanity Fair and Vogue, iconic images of Kate Moss, Amber Valetta and Natalia Vodianova alongside group shots of bathing models and landscapes - all displaying the high voltage colour and energy tipical of MarioTestino’s work.
Se trata de una muestra bastante variada… imágenes que fueron portada en publicaciones como Vanity Fair o Vogue protagonizadas por grandes top-models como Kate Moss, Natalia Vodianova o Claudia Schiffer; fotografías de celebrities recogidas en algunos de sus libros y hasta paisajes, todas ellas caracterizadas por esa explosión de energía y colorido “tipical Testino”.
The exhibition, which will be open till the 26th of July, is short but amazing. It does worth it.
La exhibición, que estará abierta al publico hasta el 26 de Julio, es breve pero intensa. Merece la pena.
